After countless hours of practice and study, I've been able to consistently beat Sit and Go's and maintain an "in the money" average of higher than 70%.

I've realized that my success comes from simply mastering 7 KEY AREAS of poker. I called these areas "Critical Success Factors", because each of them is CRUCIAL for winning online tournaments. If you're missing even just ONE of these factors, your game will suffer tremendously. And you'll probably fail.

I've spoken to several other professional poker players about this topic as well, and they agree that these 7 factors are what truly separate the "sharks" from the "fish". Here they are:

1. Your Cards

The first (and most obvious) area of importance is THE CARDS YOU ARE DEALT... and their exact relationship with the cards on the board.

Because of the "elimination nature" of Sit and Go's, your starting hand selection and general strategy should be DIFFFERENT for Sit and Go's than when you play ring games.

For example, I've found that the best way to play open-ended straight draws and flush draws after the flop in a SIT AND GO is almost opposite of the best way to play them in a ring game. The same goes with how to play hands like suited connectors and high pocket pairs.

Sit And Go Shark reads exactly what cards you're holding and how they relate to the board-- and then displays my personal opinion for what you should do in the situation.

After the turn and river cards, Shark displays a unique "Hand Strength Slider", which is a graphical representation of your hand strength on a "spectrum" of what your opponents might be holding. This slider instantly indicates how aggressive (or conservative) you should be with your betting-- based on the cards you've got.

2. Positioning

The second "Critical Success Factor" for winning at online Sit and Go's is how well you PLAY YOUR POSITION.

As you probably know, your hand selection and betting strategy critically depend on where you're sitting at the table. If you're "on the button", you've got the best positioning... and can afford to loosen up your starting hand requirements.

On the other hand, if you're "under the gun" (to the left of the big blind), you're first to act pre-flop and in the WORST position at the table.

3. Table Momentum

A lot of amateurs fail to realize the importance of TABLE MOMENTUM in the game of poker. Momentum can mean how fast, slow, tight, loose, aggressive, or passive a game is going. Since momentum is based on TRENDS over several hands, it's often very difficult to pinpoint without taking detailed notes of each hand.

4. Betting Patterns

5. Pot Odds

The fifth "Critical Success Factor" I've identified is POT ODDS and the MATH behind poker.

7. Stack Sizes And Blinds

The number of chips you have compared to your opponents... and in relation to the blinds... is the seventh "Critical Success Factor" for Sit and Go's.

Shark identifies "mismatches" as soon as they occur and brings them to your attention. An example would be if you were the small blind and everyone behind you folded-- so the only player left was the big blind. If the big blind opponent's chip stack was about half the size of yours, this would be a great opportunity to be a "bully" and steal the pot.

But if his chip stack was TRIPLE the size of yours and you had mediocre cards, his would be a situation where you should FOLD and forfeit your small blind... otherwise you'd get bullied and have to act first post-flop. Get it?
